My Grandma

I was cleaning up my desktop on my computer this weekend and came across these photos. I know I had the intention of posting them on the blog but somehow time got away and I don’t think I ever got them up. So I am doing that now. This past summer 2011 my mom brought my grandma down to visit us in our new home for the first time. This was a big deal. My grandma is the only living grandparent I have left. Just like my grandparents who I miss dearly everyday she has played a huge part in my life!
My Grandma has always lived up north. When I was younger she lived in the Maryland, DC area and now she is the Northern VA parts. Not counting the countless times she traveled to visit me when I was young she has spent priceless time with me after I had Allie. She stayed with me and helped me and was amazing. She would drive down for the week and drive home for the weekends when Jason came home. He was working out-of-town at that time. After Madison she would come down and visit both of my girls frequently for the day and then drive the 3 hours back in the afternoon. Nothing stopping her.
Age is starting to catch up a bit and driving that long of distance has become a tad harder so trips down are not as easy. That’s ok though! We can make the drive up. Last year when my mom brought her down to see our new home it was wonderful and we sat down to take our 4 generation picture!
Grandparents are something so special. I am so very thankful for mine everyday.
My girls LOVE their Great Grandma!!

White Belt to Yellow Belt

Allie had expressed a want to learn karate. When a random guy on the sidewalk approached us about it we hesitantly listened. Allie immediately said yes and we thought let’s try it out. Today we celebrated her 1st graduation from white belt to yellow belt. So far Allie has done amazing!!! I am so so proud of her. She is such a quick learner and I see her motivated to push harder. It is wonderful. I can’t wait to see what more comes from it.
So for now Allie is in karate and she loves it and after today she’ll be working on her orange belt
