A Lake Day – yesterday
Posted on 16 August 2009
This is being posted a day late:( Last night I was having problems with getting my pictures to upload and show. It was late so I decided to try again today. And they are now uploading perfect. I am still figuring all this out!!!

Yesterday was a great day for a lake day. It is a yearly tradition that my dad and step-mom rent a house at the lake close by for the weekend. It is only about a 45 min drive from where we live so it is very convenient. As a child myself I spent many a summer nights on the lake. So we continue this (sort of) tradition today.
My husband, girls, and I were up early in the morning and headed out to the lake. It was pretty out, a beautiful day which made for great swimming. My girls were in the water all day. My oldest is a pretty good swimmer. She loves the water and goes at with everything she’s got. My youngest is a bit more reserved but has come a long way this summer with her floating skills – (while in lifejacket). She has learned to putt around just fine.

I sat and watched most of the time with my feet in the water. It was refreshing.

Both girls enjoyed the inner tubes. One in the water. The other on land.

The picture below is the calm before the storm. This picture I took right before my daughter flipped the tube over on her head. It was funny to her at first. However once she tried to throw it off and had trouble the panic set in. Very loud SCREAMING followed. My dad who is floating right next to her quickly got her out:) The goggles that are on her head are now gone and lost in the lake. Her panicking cause them to fall off. The lesson she says she learned “do not wear goggles in the lake.” I think she was more upset over the goggles than getting stuck.

We also saw many creatures out and about and did a little fishing too. The fish is back in the lake safe and sound. My youngest was not cool with hurting the fish:)

At the end of the day in the house relaxing before dinner. A great day we had full of fun!
