An Unexpected Great Day!

Posted on 14 August 2009

I am going to be totally honest and say I thought today was going to be rough.

You see my friend has three children and has been a stay-at-home mom for a long while. She recently decided to go back out into the work world. Until school starts though she needs some help with her children. Thankfully there are plenty of us (friends) so we each took a day of the week. (right why am I even worried -1 day).  With her 3 kids and my 2 that makes 5. (The ages are 3 yo girl,4 yo girl,5 yo boy,8 yo girl, and 10 yo boy). A good mix. Makes for a fun time. It is not like I haven’t watched them before and it really isn’t a big deal. I debated with myself what I was really worried about. Are they going to behave? Will they eat? What are we going to do for 6 hours? I had all kinds of questions running through my mind. And to top it off I was shooting for an early bed time last night since i needed to be at her house early. Well It ended up being 1am – thanks to the awesome sky that was going on. The beautiful meteors!!

So, I did get up on time. I got myself dressed. Got my kids up and dressed. Got breakfast and drove the 2 minutes to her house. She lives close:) Thank goodness. Her van pulled out the driveway and the sitting began.

The kids were great.  The chores were done like they should have been done and my kids pitched in to help. The younger played together and the older played nice as well. I have an old friend who lives on the street too. She has known me since birth and she watches 8 kids during the day so we were able to go down and play with them.  Everyone ate good without a fight. A big plus!! Before I knew it I looked up and the van was pulling back in the driveway. I didn’t even realize 6 hours had gone by.

My 5 all did a wonderful job today.  So to have it all go so well was unexpected!
