Umm.. The Fire Station

Today Madison ( 5 years old) went on one of her first field trips. I was not able to attend (a prior engagement – I had to go to) which had me all frazzled and upset but a good friend of mine stepped in and went along with her.  My friend took some great pictures and Madison told me all about.( You can decide how much:)  That which i will now share with you now!

Me: Where did you go?

Madison: Umm… I went to the fire station.

Me: In these pictures what are you doing?

Madison: I am sitting down and listening to the fireman.  Oh and we need to put up our escape ladder because if there was a fire there is not time to do it than!

Me: What is happening in these pictures?

Madison: He is dressing up in his…I don’t know what it is called. I forgot….. Oh yeah his fireman suit.  We got to touch him in it.

Me: What was touching his suit like? Did you like it? What did it feel like?

Madison: Yes I liked it. All I touched was his glove and it felt like a glove. He said not to be scared of him that it is what he will look like when he comes into the house if we had a fire.

Me: What did he look like to you in his suit?

Madison: Someone in space

Me: What is going on in this picture?

Madison: Me spraying the water hose! Ooo I see the fireman. I turned it on and I turned it off and the fireman didn’t help me. I could do it myself. And mom you should be thankful cause i did that for you. (guys Madison is super shy – last night i told her you better spray the hose – it is super fun. I had been on the trip before so i knew what to expect!)

Me: What about these photos?

Madison: Me getting my sticker but you had to say please. And another picture of me with my sticker on

Me: What did you get to do here?

Madison: I am sitting in the fire truck.

Me: What’s in the truck?

Madison: A seat, a steering wheel.  I didn’t look behind me so I don’t know if there is a back seat. I don’t know if there are mirrors either. That is all i know.

Me: Ok

Madison:  That is me getting out really.

Me: What was your favorite part of you field trip to the fire station?

Madison: Spraying the Hose

Me: Why?

Madison: Because it is fun – that is why. And that is all i have to say – are we done yet?

And with that I will close. All in all I think Madison had a great time. I also think as the days go by she will come out with more that she remembers. In about a week I will probably be driving somewhere and she will pop out with something about her trip to the fire station and I will just smile.
