A Christmas Parade….
Tonight we attended the Lynchburg Christmas Parade. It was a joyous night and really helped put me in a Christmas mood. The weather today was not as bad as it could have been but it was cold. Earlier today it was snowing. The parade started at 5pm which I think was kind of late as it did get dark. This year however we had front row seats inside where it was warmer if we needed to come in out of the chill for a bit. Our friend, Matt helps out at an antique store downtown. The owner graciously left it open for us and provided hot chocolate and coffee and snacks! It was wonderful. We wandered around the shop till the parade started and than stood outside to enjoy the Christmas cheer!
All dressed up for parade! Girls were not happy about wearing double jackets. ( They were apologizing once we were standing in the cold)
Posing in the window of the antique store! Fun Fun
A picture from the inside
Posing with an Elephant
Waiting for the Parade to start. Having fun taking pictures of the Hat
Parade has started and the Grinch comes out!
A local marching Band!
This guy wanted to enter the parade and the lovely cop is telling him that he cannot
The boys with the girls
The Girls and I
This right here was the coolest float for Madison. Melody makers and Wolfgang the puppet in the center visits her every Thursday at preschool. They sing and play instruments and have lots of fun. She really enjoyed seeing this float.
I thought this little ice cream truck was cute.
The ROLLER Derby girls!
Santa and Mrs. Clause ridin in style!
The most amazing thing to me is this. ALL the candy the kids received. I would almost say it is better than Halloween because we just stood there and the kids got lots and lots of candy. It was crazy!
All in All every one had a great time at the Parade! Too bad the snow didn’t continue a little longer though – A white Christmas parade….maybe next year!
