My Cross-Country Mini-series: State lines and Skylines
Posted on 18 March 2010
Oh my goodness has it been crazy! I am back from my road trip and I had one of the best times ever! It was so much fun. Since I have been back I have been trying to decide how I am going to write about it. While on my cross-country drive I took a total of 746 pictures. I than came home and had to go through them and deleted over 200. I am now left with 464 that I am sorting through to figure out which are the best to put up on here. With that I have decided to break it down into a few different posts So let’s get to it!
We drove from:
Moneta, Virginia to Peoria, Arizona
It totaled 2,145 miles and we drove through 7 states.
We left early Saturday morning and arrived in Arizona late Sunday evening. We went through 3 time changes and a “Spring forward” on Saturday night! We stopped in Fort Smith, Arkansas to sleep for the night on Saturday. We drove approx. 14.5 hours on Saturday and 17.5 hours on Sunday.
Seeing the different skylines was one of my favorite parts of the trip especially when sometimes we had been driving along an endless road of nothing
Remember to see view photo larger just click on it!
View of Virginia. My home state is still pretty even in the rain and fog of the morning. The first day of our drive it remained pretty overcast with showers and sometimes heavy rain.
State Line – Tennessee. As you can see I barely got the shot but it was ok.
Here is the Nashville Skyline. Can you see the Batman looking Building. (approx. The third building in from the right)
We also went through Memphis. This was one of our rest/food stops.
State line – Arkansas – Crossing over the Mississippi River. This was cool the state line going through the river over the bridge!
State line – Oklahoma – It was dark and early morning
Oklahoma City Skyline in the fog
Another view of Oklahoma City Skyline
State line – Texas
Right after the sign for the state line was this sign and this is one of my favorite pictures! I love the coloring in the photo!
Amarillo Sky line
Another view of Amarillo Sky line
State line – New Mexico – I will talk about this in a later post but I loved driving through this state
Albuquerque Skyline
State Line – Arizona
Phoenix Skyline

This concludes my first post. My next post I am hoping to include some of the beautiful landscapes and random photos I shot along the way while going 80 to 90 miles in the car. Oh what awesome FUN!!!

Cute! I love the skyline pictures, and state-line signs. I’m a big nerd, I reckon. It would be awesome if you could go from San Francisco to New York…Through Salt Lake, Denver, KC, St Louis, Chi-town. Aaaaah….That’d be a cool trip. Enjoyed your website. Just trolling around. All the best.
Great photos and story line. Can’t wait to see the rest! Glad you both had a great time!
