Today the title of  my post says it all.

Todd Carey -

if you have not heard the name then I am going to tell you what little bit I know and a little about my recent overnight trip. Then I highly recommend you go check him out for yourself!

I was introduced to Todd’s music when his newest EP “After the Morning After” was released on May 25 of this year. I have a friend that I follow on twitter who had been talking about his music so I thought I might check him out.  I am always in for checking out artists that I have not heard of. For me it turns out she was so on. I bought the “Morning After” Ep and fell in love with just about every song. From there I bought the album called “Watching, Waiting“ and have been happy and content!

Todd like many artists today has a twitter page and a facebook page and I decided to join those. I always struggle with that because I hate ”being friends” when in reality they have no frickin clue who I am :) but it kind of keeps me up to date with the very busy schedule a musician can have. I am glad I did because Todd has been out on tour and just came through Virginia. I decided I should go see him live! You guys know me and live music.

Since I did not want to drive by myself I took my sister Lara with me as my accomplice. Todd played at a place called  the  ”Jammin Java Cafe” which is in Vienna, VA. This happens to be about 20 minutes away from where my grandma lives. PERFECT. I talked with her about it and she was awesome and let Lara and I stay the night there which cut out the cost of a hotel. Plus we got to spend time talking with her till 1am in the morning. I love you grandma :)

The Jammin Java was a very cool place. The bands that played with Todd were fantastic too. I can not really speak much about them because I am not all that familiar but the opening act was Dion Roy. He did a really great job. Lara and I both enjoyed him. Josiah Leming followed. Lara and I were amazed by him. Then came Todd.  He was great. I love watching him and his TC band play! They sound just as great playing live as they do on their record!!  It was all I expected and more!! Yay!!!

When Todd was done we headed to the back to meet. Somehow we ended up at the back of the line but that was ok. I didn’t mind waiting. Lara and I chatted and we listened to the final band playing The Guggenheim Grotto. When it was our turn to go up and say hi -Todd was sweet and kind. He has an adorable smile and did I mention that he is a cutie!!!

Todd, I think you are fantastic and I love you and your music. Please keep up the GREAT work :)

I am so glad I made the trip. I think Todd is a beautiful musician and can’t wait to see what all he continues to do!

Isn’t he fantastic? I’m so excited to see him later this month! I’ve been listening to his music for more than 2 years now, and have never had the chance to see him live. Can’t wait!
