Obviously my Friday night was perfection filled with friends and music. You can read about that here if you have not already

After getting home around 4am on Saturday.. well that called for a little sleeping in Which I did! Saturday was a relaxing day. The kids and I played games. I thought Allie was going to whoop me at Checkers but I somehow managed to get her in the end. Thank goodness because she ALWAYS beats me in the “Go Fish” card game!! Madison and I played her new favorite game Memory. We’ll just say this is not my strong suit and not Madison’s either… The apple didn’t far fall from tree here It took us 30 mins just about to get through one game. Madison beat me fair and square though but we weren’t playing again!

Sunday was the lake day with family. I had to work the morning at church and after I was finished we headed up to SML. It was a pretty day. The girls were able to swim in the lake and we hung out on the deck. It was warm and beautiful and I am sad to see summer go

Monday was a Bum Day! We just bummed all day. It rained and rained and rained so we just sat around and didn’t do much of anything.  Which was probably ok since we had to get ready to go back to normal routine again the next day

But the longness of the weekend was very enjoyable. Oh this makes me excited for summer!

Sunday we went to Smith Mountain Lake to have some fun with my mom and step-dad. The beautiful weather made for a great cookout and it is that time of year again to pull out the ole’ boat and take her for a spin. (The jet ski has to wait till next weekend )

First the girls enjoyed time observing the boats as the zipped along the lake.  Those binoculars the girls have – they have some history behind them. The one pair belonged to my step-dad’s mom when she was child.

Mom and Bob stayed back to start dinner while Jason and I took the girls out for a spin. At first there was some hesitation for they had to get used to being in a boat again.

The general consensus is we LOVE Allie’s face in this one.

With so many boats being in the water this weekend the water was rough and choppy. That made for a very bouncy ride!

After we ate a scrumptious meal of hot dogs, hamburger, the yummiest green beans, potato salad, sauerkraut, and the best ever salt and pepper chips we worked it off with some frisbee playing.

It was a beautiful weekend that we enjoyed with family. Here’s to many more this summer!
