Friday we spent downtown at the Get!Downtown Festival. The event shuts down part of Mainstreet and fills it with fun. I took the girls with my dad and family and we had a good night. Tony Camm opened the ceremonies with his Get!Downtown song and I was MORE then happy to sing along!

Saturday most of the day was spent cleaning madison’s room! I am happy to finally be getting that organized. While we organized my dad came and got Allie and took her for her very first bike ride Down Town! She did awesome. She rode 10 miles on a trail we have here. They rode under a bridge. Checked out a part of the James River. Stopped and had lunch at the Depot Grille. About 100 feet from the car on their return back from the 10 mile bike ride Allie fell.  Learning from the last time she hit the ground she didn’t put her hands down Thankfully it wasn’t too bad. It just scared her more than anything. She does have one knee that is pretty banged up and will probably take a couple weeks to heal but once she was home and calmed down she was back up and ready to hit the trail again!! That makes me excited.

Saturday evening was another drive to Greensboro, NC to see Tyler Hilton. It has been like a year since I last saw him!!! Plus I love going to shows and seeing people I have just recently met! Makes the show so much more enjoyable :) Tyler played a looong solo show and it was fabulous.  Love seeing/hearing me some Tyler. Thank you Tyler!!

With a 3:30am home arrival time Saturday/Sunday morning there was not much happening on Sunday. I did get up and go to church. We had dinner with some friends and other than that I was tired so we took it easy. Jason had to work which he does a lot of recently so the girls and I just sat around and watched some 9-11 shows on tv. We had a great weekend. Oh and we saw this really cool bug too on the outside of the door. A praying mantis.

This Friday was a great Friday. I was able to travel again to go see Todd play. If you can’t tell it has become kind of a thing I go when he is close enough for me to go. I do not take for granted that he seems to come close often enough

This was my first time going south. Greensboro was the destination which was perfect because that was an easy trip up and back in a day. I also was able to take a good friend of mine, Ryan, so I had a traveling buddy. I actually prefer to take somebody. I don’t like to travel alone if I don’t have to!! I am co-dependent that way I try not show that when I travel by myself!

This was also my first time seeing Todd play solo on the road. Now I had a solo show here at the house (which nothing beats that) but it was nice to see the energy of it on the road. If that makes sense.

Greensboro is a quick 2 hour drive that we made easily. We hit no traffic. Once down Ryan suggested Chipotle for dinner which was fine with me. Believe it ir not I had never eaten at one of those. I guess they are big deal for a lot of people.  Holy cow they have big burritos! I barely ate half.

We had two hours to kill after that so we found a mall where the stores were all outdoors and wandered that. I found a toy store and picked up the girls two little plastic animals. Madison a little pig and Allie a toad!

Then it was showtime. We headed over. There was an opening act. I did not catch his name but he played a few songs.

Then Todd began and well he was perfect. What else can I say. We got to hear some new songs which I loved and some old ones and a couple covers!! Ryan really enjoyed it too. You know every time I bring someone and they get to see him live they finally see what I am talking about. I have never had anybody walk away yet without getting what I see in him!

Afterwards a few of us from the show went to a local microbrewery called Natty Greenes. We hung out there till about 2am.  I really enjoyed my night and now you can see where the lyrics (aka title of the post) work very well with my night!
