Weekend Woes

August 30th, 2009 amanda 2 comments

So this was the first weekend since the start of school. It started out pretty good.  We went Friday night to the mini gym where Jason goes and does his morning DTS boot camp exercises. They had an open house to showcase what they do and we took the kids. They had a blast. They tried out some of the machines and watched a great friend of our’s, Chad, do some of the work out’s. He is a machine – does them like a robot.

Saturday we went up to Roanoke and visited my sister Lara. She has a little restaurant that reminds me of a diner called the Little Chef and we went and ate there. They make the best potatoes (hash browns).  I got cheese and onions in mine. Full of grease and butter but oh so good. Yummy!!! Lara’s boyfriend was working a 12 hour day so she was by herself. We stayed with her for a bit and visited. My girls always love to visit their Aunt. She is the only one they have. Lara used to be between 3 and 4 hours away so we would only see her on holidays and such. She moved and is now about 45 mins away which makes it much easier to go visit her, so the kids LOVE it.  We got home late afternoon and Jason took the kids to church.

Sunday is when it hit. Allie has been in school for a week now. Last night she woke up with a sore throat. Now she is congested real bad, her nose is running like a faucet and has a slight fever (nothing major). She is miserable though. I am going to say that I HATE germs. I know hate is a strong word but i am going to use it for this. I also know that there is absolutely nothing i can really do about it (that really irritates me too sometimes:) but i still don’t like them. As it stands right now I may end up having to take her in to doctor tomorrow.  We will see how she does. This is normal for Allie. She always seems to catch whatever is going around. I hope that she will be better in the next few days and definitely by the holiday weekend. We have plans that she is looking forward too.  So for the next few days I will be taking care of my sick one, which i love to do. She is a great sick child – so much grumpier:)
