First my poor blog has sat here for a while and had no attention. I look back at all the things I could have been blogging about and they are now left behind. I really need to do a better job with this. I really do.

Second it is almost 2am and I am up with a sick child. There are many wonderful things about being a mother. Watching your children grow up. Using phrases your parents said to you. Singing and dancing along with your children. Being the embarrassing mom However the one thing I have ALWAYs had a hard time with is vomit. Oh how I hate it. Never been a thing I like and yet I am always the one stuck cleaning it up. I hate those stomach bugs. Now we are all at risk of getting them. I hate when the kids don’t get to toilet in time. I hate having to clean the mess up. I hate how it makes the kids feel and you can’t make them feel better. The only good part I guess, if we are trying to find any good in it at all, is that a stomach bug usually last 24 hours. But for me I STILL HATE THEM! So I apologize for complaining but as I sit here at 2am in the morning with a sick child I am reminded again that I just don’t like vomit!

As many know through my multiple instagram pictures and such we are a family that loves animals.  We have taken in 2 stray cats. Yes stray. Two cats that were abandoned by their owners and left outside alone. The most recent cat we took in happened to be pregnant. We cared for her and she had 3 healthy kittens. My girls really enjoyed this experience. Watching her grow. Madison found them right after Momma (Lacy) had them. You can read about it here and see many pictures. I found a GREAT home for two of the kittens and we decided to keep the black one, Buddy. He along the way seemed to be a bit slower than the other two and also had some stomach issues. Which he worked out and as he grew and now he is a big great fine cat. They are now 6 months old. Again 6 months old.  Buddy is amazing. he is happy and crazy and loves to run around. He plays with the dog. He has become Allies best friend. Allie has never had any animals take to her as well as he has.

Buddy went off on one of his runs. This time though he missed his jump and landed wrong.  I heard him cry out in pain and he was hissing. So begins our nightmare. To make a long story short he has broken his femur. This requires him to have a surgery to put pins in his knee area. This will have to be done on Monday. This will cost $1300. That $1300 has to be paid up front thanks to the economy. Now if I had that money my cat would be going into surgery first thing Monday morning.

But we don’t my family makes by with what we have and this is something we obviously did not expect to happen nor can we pay for in full. So a decision has to be made. According to the vet he has the surgery or we kill him. I say it harsh but that is how I see it. I am not wanting to have to make that choice. If we were talking about my 10yo cat I may be looking at the situation differently but we have a healthy 6 month old cat who could still live a LONG healthy life with us if we could find the money by tomorrow morning.

So it sucks. I am running out of time and now sure what else to do. I am angry at myself for not being able to help him and even having to choose. My children are devastated.  I understand he is not human. I understand he does not think like you or I but I am just not ready to let him go… and as the clock ticks the harder it becomes harder for me to breathe.
